Mukesh Khanna Calls Ali Asgar’s ‘Dadi’ Role Vulgar—Ali’s Savage Reply Steals the Show!

Ali Asgar: From Dadi to Debates

Ali Asgar, the beloved ‘Dadi’ from The Kapil Sharma Show, has made a mark with his comedy and become a household name. His portrayal of the quirky ‘Talli Dadi’ had everyone in splits. Ali was part of The Kapil Sharma Show from 2013 to 2016, and his sudden departure left fans in shock.

Dadi’s Role Gets Slammed: Ali Asgar’s Bold Comeback

Recently, Mukesh Khanna, known for his role in Shaktimaan, criticized Ali’s ‘Dadi’ character as vulgar. Ali wasn’t having any of it and clapped back, saying, “It’s my personal choice, so I have nothing to say. People often question why we cast a man as a woman. Well, there’s no grandmother like mine—full of energy and humor.”

Ali explained that their shooting schedule was tight, often requiring them to shoot two episodes in a day and continue late into the night. “If you cast an actress as Dadi, she might struggle with such long hours due to the physical demands of the role,” he added.

Ali’s Argument: Women Work Hard Too!

When Mukesh Khanna argued that heroines also work late, Ali responded, “Another reason we cast men in women’s roles is that it’s not a traditional or serious role. This allows us to have more fun with the character. There’s no reason to get offended because it’s not a serious portrayal.”

Ali Asgar played Dadi from 2013 to 2016 on Comedy Nights with Kapil, and later returned as ‘Nani’ on The Kapil Sharma Show from 2016 to 2017. Reflecting on his time with Kapil Sharma, Ali said, “The show was all about a glamorous family. We always made fun of ourselves before poking fun at others.”

As for Kapil Sharma, his recent venture The Great Indian Kapil Show on Netflix didn’t feature Ali, but the show is set to return with a second season soon. Stay tuned for more updates and laughs!
