IPL 2025 Umran Malik will get Rs 15 crore Will India fastest bowler become rich after parting ways with SRH
IPL 2025, Umran Malik:
Before IPL 2025 kicks off, there will be a major auction where teams will spend big bucks to bring star players into their squads. But first, each team needs to announce which players they want to keep and which ones they’re letting go. There are reports that Sunrisers Hyderabad might release their fast bowler, Umran Malik. Meanwhile, Umran could potentially earn 15 crore rupees in the upcoming season.
According to reports, Mumbai Indians, Royal Challengers Bangalore, and Chennai Super Kings are interested in adding Umran Malik to their teams. In particular, RCB is reportedly willing to offer him 15 crore rupees. However, Sunrisers Hyderabad has not yet officially announced that they are releasing Umran, nor has RCB made any formal statement about acquiring him.
BCCI and Team Owners’ Meeting Causes Stir
Recently, there was a heated meeting between BCCI officials and team owners in Mumbai. The meeting saw significant disagreements. Sunrisers Hyderabad and Kolkata Knight Riders were against the mega auction, arguing that they have invested years in building their teams and that the auction might disrupt the balance. On the other hand, Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings, who have yet to win an IPL trophy, supported the mega auction as a way to improve their squads.
Debate Over Retention and Impact Player Rules
There was also debate over player retention rules. In the mega auction, teams can retain only 4 to 8 players, while there are no such limits in the mini-auction. The discussion also touched on the Impact Player rule. Players and coaches are generally against continuing this rule, while broadcasters want it to stay. The BCCI has not yet made a final decision on these issues.
