On Sunday, a significant accident involving the Magadh Express, which was en route from New Delhi to Islampur, occurred in Bihar’s Buxar district. The accident was caused by a coupling failure that led to the Magadh Express splitting into two sections. This incident took place between Twiniganj and Raghunathpur railway stations.

The coupling failure happened at approximately 11:08 am, causing the train to separate between coach S-7 (13th from the engine) and coach S-6 (14th from the engine). According to Sharswati Chandra, Chief Public Relations Officer (CPRO) of East Central Railway, there were no injuries reported as a result of the Magadh Express accident.
Restoration Efforts
Rail traffic was disrupted for over three hours due to the Magadh Express accident. However, restoration work was promptly carried out. By 2:25 pm, the coupling of the train was repaired, and the Magadh Express was able to resume its journey. Following this, the down line was cleared for the movement of other trains.
