A gruesome incident has shaken the city of Indore in Madhya Pradesh, where a picnic outing for two Indian Army officers and their friends turned into a terrifying ordeal. The group was attacked by seven unidentified men, resulting in the rape of one of the female companions and injuries to the officers.

Incident Details

The incident occurred on Tuesday, in the early hours of Wednesday, on the Mhow-Mandleshwar road in Indore district. The two Army officers, aged 23 and 24, had gone out for a picnic with two female friends. The group was enjoying their outing when the attackers struck.

Attack and Aftermath

According to the police, the attackers held the woman officer and her companion hostage at gunpoint, while the other two victims were on a hilltop nearby. The attackers started beating up one of the officers sitting in a car and also the women. The second officer and her friend rushed to the spot after hearing the cries for help and informed their seniors about the incident.

Police Investigation

The police were promptly informed, and a team arrived at the site where the pair was attacked. However, the miscreants fled the spot before the police could apprehend them. The police have registered a case under various sections, including gangrape, dacoity, extortion, and voluntarily causing hurt. Two suspects have been arrested, and a manhunt has been launched to catch the remaining attackers.

Victims’ Condition

The victims were taken to Mhow Civil Hospital for medical examination, where doctors confirmed the sexual assault of one of the women and signs of injuries on the officers’ bodies. The victims are undergoing treatment and are in a stable condition.

Official Statements

Indore Rural SP Hitika Vasal said, “We are investigating the case and working to apprehend the remaining suspects.” Lokendra Singh Hirore, the in-charge of Badgonda police station, added, “The victims were held hostage at gunpoint, and the attackers fled before our arrival.”

Search and Arrest

The police have launched a massive search operation to catch the remaining attackers. Six of the seven suspects have been identified, and a team has been sent to apprehend them. The police are also reviewing CCTV footage and gathering evidence to build a strong case against the attackers.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage and condemnation. Local residents are demanding swift action against the attackers and justice for the victims. The Army has also expressed concern over the incident and is cooperating with the police investigation.
